Upcoming Spring Events

Pancakes and Planning - April Open Board Meeting -- April 11th
All CAKD members and potential members are invited to attend the Open Board Meeting and officer training to be held on April 11th at 12 noon at Mimi’s CafĂ© in WLR (11725 CHENAL PKWY., LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas 72211). We will be planning the 2010-2011 Calendar of Events and wrapping up the Annual Newsletter.

Eta Sigma (Arkansas/Little Rock) Installation – April 11th
After 2 semesters of hard work, Eta Sigma will receive its charter from National Kappa Delta on April 11th. CAKD members re invited to attend a dessert reception at 7 pm. Tickets are $10, and an RSVP is due to Katie Cooper by April 5th. Please contact centralarkansaskd@hotmail.com if you need a copy of the installation invitation.

KD Happy Hour – April 14th
Back by popular demand – KD Happy Hour / Dinner Group. Comes for drinks or stay for dinner – just have fun with your sisters! April’s meet-up will be at 6 pm at the Red Door (http://www.reddoorrestaurant.net/), (3701 Old Cantrell Road Little Rock, AR 72202). Planning on coming? GLRAP Sorority Recruitment Workshop – April 25th
The annual event sponsored by the Greater Little Rock Alumnae Panhellenic Association for high school seniors, current college ladies, and their parents to introduce them to the National Panhellenic Conference Sororities is scheduled for 2 pm on Sunday, April 25th at the Darragh Center Auditorium at the Main Library (Central Arkansas Library System), 100 Rock Street Little Rock, AR 72201. The date of the annual newsletter stuffing party will be determined at the April 11th planning meeting.
Arkansas KD State Day – Weekend of September 25th

Save the Date! The Northwest Arkansas Kappa Delta Alumnae chapter is hosting a KD State Day the weekend of the Alabama-Arkansas football game in Fayetteville. NWARKD received a $500 grant for the very 1st KD State Day in Arkansas, and details are being planned for this event. Get excited about this weekend! Community Service Opportunities
Each month CAKD will provide opportunities that you can participate in activities that support the values and philanthropies of Kappa Delta Sorority. While there will not be an “official” KD group at these events this month, feel free to grab some sisters and attend to support the great work in our community. Do you have an event that you want to publicize in future newsletters? Send it to

Prevent Child Abuse America -- CASA of Pulaski County Pedal Races – April 10th. The 5th Annual Pulaski County CASA Pedal Car Races is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Rivermarket. There will be racing, music, dancing, games and more! Bring your whole family! The cost is $5.00 per child. Girl Scouts – Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas –Nature’s Gems (Celebrate Earth Day) is scheduled for April 17th at Dunbar Community Center from 10 am to 2 pm. This is a core council event. Contact Mindy Baird (mbaird@girlscoutsdiamonds.org) for more information.

End of Year Reports
CAKD dues-paying members can view the completed “End of Year Reports” at http://dashboard.kappadelta.org. Members login by using their KD Friendship Network Account Information (if you don’t have one, there is a link to the place where you can set one up). CAKD had a GREAT year in 2009-2010. The executive board is looking forward to an even better 2010-2011!
